ADDITIONAL SERVICES

At Firefly, our integrative approach is tailored to your pet’s unique needs. In addition to our core offerings, we provide other unique services to help you & your pet thrive.

As part of Firefly’s integrative care, we can offer veterinary guidance around diet and nutrition — tailored to support your pet’s condition and overall wellbeing.

Because food affects more than just the body, we also consider how nutrition supports gut health, pain, immunity, and even behaviour. The gut microbiome plays a key role in emotional wellbeing, especially in pets experiencing stress, anxiety, or chronic conditions.

We take a flexible, evidence-informed approach to diet — supporting all feeding styles (kibble, raw, cold-pressed, fresh-cooked, etc.) as long as they are safe, species-appropriate, and balanced.

Where appropriate, we may recommend dietary adjustments, targeted probiotics, or even microbiome testing kits to better understand your pet’s internal health. Small changes can make a big difference in how your pet feels — inside and out.

Charis also has training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine and can prescribe these for your pet.

Nutrition support is offered as part of a broader care plan and does not replace a full dietary consultation with a clinical nutritionist.

NUTRITION SUPPORT

THERAPUETIC MASSAGE

As part of your pet’s session — whether they’re receiving laser therapy and acupuncture, or working through a behavioural modification plan — we may incorporate gentle bodywork techniques to help ease tension, improve circulation, or simply offer comforting touch and build a bond.

These techniques are always guided by your pet’s cues and delivered with a calm, respectful touch.

You’ll also receive tips you can use at home — small, meaningful ways to support your pet’s body and wellbeing through touch, creating a stronger connection on their wellness journey.

This service is informed by introductory training in therapeutic massage and is intended for supportive use only — not as a replacement for physiotherapy or veterinary rehabilitation. For pets needing full massage or rehabilitation therapy, we’re happy to collaborate with and recommend a local qualified veterinary physiotherapy provider or massage therapist.

A touch that heals, a calm that lasts.

COOPERATIVE CARE COACHING

We know in-clinic vet visits and prescribed treatments can be stressful - especially for sensitive or fearful pets. As a veterinary behaviorist-led team, we can offer proactive support to build your confidence as a pet guardian and strengthen the bond between you & your pet with positive handling techniques and conditioning routines.

These sessions can help with:

  • Preparing for vet visits or at-home treatments

  • Consent-based handling for young pets (nail trims, injections, etc.)

  • Anxious or fearful animals needing desensitisation and choice-based care

  • Building calm through enrichment and positive associations

Fear Free certified and focused on long-term wellbeing, not just the next visit.

Empowering owners, reducing stress.
